Itinerary
Day 1: depart Sofia’s Serdika bus station at 6:30 am, travelling via Belgrade to Budapest. Arrive late in the evening and check in. The evening panoramic tour is optional and costs extra.
Day 2: breakfast and a Budapest panoramic tour with a local guide, around two hours. The route includes Parliament, Buda Castle Hill, Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, the Citadel and Heroes’ Square. The Danube boat trip is optional. Depart for Vienna at 4:00 pm, check into a hotel in the area and stay overnight.
Day 3: breakfast, a Vienna panoramic tour with a local guide, around three hours, and a walking tour of the centre. Sights include Belvedere, the Opera, Ringstrasse, Hofburg, City Hall, Hundertwasser House and St Stephen’s Cathedral. Schönbrunn is an optional extra. Free time requires public transport. Overnight stay.
Day 4: breakfast and check-out, with luggage kept in a storage room. Free time for Christmas shopping or museums. Optional visits include the Imperial Treasury at Hofburg or the Taste of Vienna programme with the Opera and a Viennese café. Depart for Bulgaria at 7:00 pm and travel overnight by coach.
Day 5: arrive at Sofia’s Serdika bus station around noon.
Included in the Price
- Travel by air-conditioned touring coach.
- One night with breakfast in a 3-star hotel in Budapest and two nights with breakfast in a 3-star hotel in the Vienna area.
- A Budapest panoramic tour and Vienna panoramic and walking tours with local guides.
- A tour leader from Bulgaria and travel assistance insurance with €10,000 cover.
Compulsory Extra Charges
- Tour headsets: €4 per person for the trip, paid locally. Children under 6 do not use headsets and are not charged.
- A fuel surcharge if announced. The amount and applicability are confirmed when you inquire.
- An insurance surcharge applies to travellers over 65; the amount is confirmed when you inquire.
Optional Excursions and Other Costs
- Danube boat trip: €35–45, minimum 20 participants. The one-hour trip includes cake, a glass of champagne and guiding in Bulgarian. Budapest evening tour: €15, minimum 15 participants.
- Schönbrunn with admission and a local guide: €32–42, minimum 20 participants; the Imperial Treasury with admission and a local guide: €20–35.
- Taste of Vienna, including the Opera, Sachertorte and coffee: €34–44, minimum 16 participants. The exact price within these ranges is confirmed for the participant and service.
- Independent museum visits: Belvedere €21, Natural History Museum €18, Kunsthistorisches Museum €22. Zoo: €29 for adults, €18 for children aged 6–18. The programme lists free Natural History Museum admission for children under 18.
- Public transport: €3.20 for a single ticket or €10.20 for 24 hours. Meals beyond the included breakfasts, personal expenses, tips, other admission tickets and cancellation insurance are extra.
- Single-room package: €542 per person. An additional coach seat costs €126. School and university student discount: €9.20; children under 12 sharing with both parents: €14.80 off.
Minimum 30 participants. Optional services must be requested in advance and depend on availability and participant numbers. The return journey includes an overnight coach ride. The programme is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
