Matka Canyon: nature, adventure and Macedonian traditions

An unforgettable one-day journey to one of the most picturesque places in North Macedonia! 🌿⛰️

We will immerse ourselves in the beauty of the Matka Canyon, a striking combination of sheer cliffs, turquoise waters, caves and greenery. We will have plenty of free time to enjoy the place the way we like: with a pleasant walk, a boat trip, beautiful photos or a tasty lunch with a view of the canyon.

Afterwards we head to Kriva Palanka, where we will soak up the atmosphere of a traditional Macedonian market, and finally we visit the beautiful Osogovo Monastery.

🚌 PROGRAMME

07:00: departure from the Serdika bus station, Sofia.

08:30: optional pick-up of travellers from Dupnitsa.

We continue the journey towards North Macedonia and the Matka Canyon.

🏞️ MATKA CANYON

We arrive at the canyon and our adventure begins!

We will have plenty of free time for:

• 🥾 a walk along the scenic paths;
• 🚤 a boat trip through the canyon, optional;
• 📸 photos amid the incredible natural scenery;
• 🍽️ time for lunch and a rest.

Matka is a place that has to be seen and felt: the calm of the water, the majestic cliffs and the unique nature make it one of the most impressive places in the region.

🛍️ KRIVA PALANKA

In the afternoon we set off for Kriva Palanka, where we will have time for a walk and a visit to the traditional market.

You will be able to browse local produce and traditional goods and feel the atmosphere of a real Macedonian town market.

⛪ OSOGOVO MONASTERY

Our last stop is the Osogovo Monastery, one of the most significant spiritual and historical places in the area, nestled in the beautiful Osogovo Mountain.

We take time to look around and have a short rest before heading back to Bulgaria.

In the evening: departure for Sofia and Dupnitsa.
