This weekend we head to Southern and Central Pirin to climb two of its most interesting peaks, Sveshtnik (1,975 m) and Orelyak (2,099 m). They offer impressive 360-degree panoramas over Pirin, the surrounding mountains and distant horizons across Bulgaria and Greece.
DAY 1: SVESHTNIK PEAK AND POPOVI LIVADI
Our first day takes us to Sveshtnik, 1,975 m high and the second-highest peak in Southern Pirin.
We walk through beautiful autumn forests, with the landscape gradually opening as we gain height. Magnificent panoramic views reward us at the summit.
After the hike, we head to the historic Popovi Livadi area, where we spend the evening enjoying the hut’s traditional hospitality.

DAY 2: ORELYAK PEAK AND ORLOVI SKALI
The second day is devoted to Central Pirin’s highest peak, Orelyak (2,099 m), also known as Orelek.
Another beautiful route takes us into the mountain’s higher reaches. The summit and the Orlovi Skali area offer impressive views of nearby and distant mountains and peaks in Bulgaria and Greece.
A day for panoramas, mountain horizons and the feeling of freedom that only a high ridge can give.
